A manmade stone forged from fire, sand and copper to create a glass with fine copper dust which simmers in the sun. The story goes that a monk in the mountains was mixing molten glass when someone walked by and tripped, spilling their basket of copper in the mix. Thus the nickname; Monkstone. This stone represents the joy of happy mistakes and how, although we can’t control everything that comes our way, we can still find beauty in the world.

This piece is handwoven in clear coat enameled genuine copper. The clear coat of enamel protects the copper from patina and damage. Natural patina over time may occur, any copper safe polish will restore its beautiful shine. Do not expose to water over long periods of time; this will speed up the patina process.
